McGraw-Hill Education:
Harrison's Online Web Site
Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine is the world's leading textbook of internal medicine. Dynamic Diagrams worked with the McGraw-Hill Professional Publishing Group to develop Harrison's Online, a Web site based on the renowned publication.
The Challenge: Integrate Online Features with Core Content
Harrison's Online had to integrate all of the content of the printed book with a text search and context-sensitive navigational tools. The site would provide continuous updates, the latest clinical trial information and new bibliographic references.
In addition to the core book content, the site includes bibliographic references, a discussion forum, and external links to citations and related Web sites.
Our task was to create the architecture and designs that integrated all of these features.
Our Solution: Define the Production System as Part of the Architecture
Based on our information architecture, the project's developers created a production and content management system that allows McGraw-Hill editors to update site content through a Web interface.
For its users, the site's structure and design ensured that seamless navigation between the core chapters, updates, and other features.
