Samsung Electronics Corporation:
Web Properties Animation
One pair of diagrams we created for the Samsung Electronics Corporation (SEC) Global and Country Web Site Design project showed the different types of content that SEC had on its various Web sites in a "before" and "after" comparison. These deceptively simple diagrams presented the strategic mission of the project with persuasive clarity.
The “before” view shows content scattered among various sites which meant redundant effort for the corporation and confusion for users. The “after” view shows how a new architecture would distinguish between the corporate and country domains, define parallel structures for organizing information, and respond to different types of users.
On occasion we revisit one of our projects to explore the possibilities of a different presentation technology or an alternative approach. In this case we decided to see how Macromedia Flash could be used to show the transition between the current and new structure. The resulting animation shows how scattered bodies of content would be reorganized and combined, reinforcing the goals of the project.
