Gynuity Post-Partum Hemorrhage Research Presentation

Gynuity Health Projects is a research and technical assistance organization whose goal is to make reproductive health technologies more convenient, more acceptable, safer, and more widely accessible. Advocacy is a key activity of the organization, and often involves presenting complex data to non-clinicians who need to understand the impact of new discoveries. Gynuity asked Dynamic Diagrams for assistance in creating a visualization system to convey the results of a series of studies related to post-partum hemorrhage (PPH) and its treatment. While the results had already been published in established medical journals, the findings needed to be presented in a clear and compelling way to a wide range of audiences,including policymakers, governmental bodies, regulatory agencies, and practitioners.

After interviewing research staff and examining the research results, we created a data visualization system in which findings from each trial could be presented in a format that was both easy to understand and could be reused for future studies. As part of the same project, we created storyboards that placed PPH in the larger context of worldwide maternal health, explained the research findings to date, and described the anticipated follow-on research initiative.  The final product was a presentation that deeply engages and informs Gynuity’s target audiences.
