MIT dSpace Diagram

When MIT Libraries teamed with Hewlett-Packard to create the DSpace digital media archive, they asked Dynamic Diagrams to create a visual explanation of the system. On its own or coupled with articles and white papers, our visual would encourage understanding and adoption of the new technology.

We decided to illustrate the path that data takes “through” the system. The resulting visualization shows how a repository is built from individual content files, organized into collections, and made accessible to researchers.
