Samsung Electronics Corporation (SEC) asked Dynamic Diagrams to redesign its collection of 70 global and country sites. The new interface had to provide a consistent navigational “look and feel,” strengthen the company’s identity worldwide, and accommodate future product lines and promotions.
In order to develop a consistent approach to branding and navigation across all SEC web properties, we needed to better understand their current state. Our analysis revealed a wide variety of web content, ranging from sponsored sports teams in Korea to air conditioners in Finland. We then created a conceptual model illustrating how the company could present their content in a more organized way — a global site to describe the company as a whole, and a model SEC could use to create sites in each country. This conceptual diagram served as a starting point for developing a new web site information architecture and supporting visual design system that responded to all of SEC’s needs.
